“Many people in Gippsland will know retired Anglican minister the Rev Jim Connelly. He is a pretty handy historian and writer too.
In his latest book, we are favoured with a quirky, armchair drive around Gippsland, each town described in a few deft paragraphs, with smaller towns around included. I have only just received mine, and am wanting to keep dipping inside.
The entries are in alphabetical order, and there are no photos - but the words provide more than enough pictures. This is text written with a joy of language. But also well-spaced and easy on the eye. All of Gippsland in 330 pages. I love it.
